It’s been almost two weeks since I reformatted the TrackeCam #2 machine and it has been running like a champ. Kind of feels good knowing that’s one less thing!
Have a Good Day World and Thanks for Visiting The Uncle!

Re-fdisked and reformatted TrackerCam #2. It has been locking up every six hours, I have ran full diagnostics on it and found no hardware problems. I formatted it using NTFS running Win2000 hoping this will correct the problems. Keep your fingers crossed people!

They offer motor bike mounts and other types that may work for you. They have an a site at their eBay store.

Here is a reference to UncleSamsCams.com I found by googling unclesamscams.com. Brewed Fresh Daily has a blog entry about the confusing nature of the domain name we picked - UncleSamsCams.com and how it can be confused with Uncle Sam Scams.com - If you know the Uncle you already realize that this is an intentional play on wrods and we are poised to change the focus of the site if need be to reporting on government cover ups and scam alerts related to the govt. Cool eh?
Brewed Fresh Daily - Cleveland Consumes Copious Quantities of Coffee Misread URLs Remember the book about misheard song lyrics? This post is about URLs. I googled Northeast Ohio Blogs and noticed this one - unclesamscams.com - and read it as "Uncle Sam Scams". Be careful choosing your domain name. (2) comments | link

We are in negotiation with Sintec - the makers of SmileCAM - and are trying to become a partner and resell their product line. This is a very cool product and I look forward to getting in some units to demo on The Uncle. - Below is a description from the SmileCAM site.
::::: Welcome To SmileCAM ::::: SmileCAM detects and tracks motion automatically and can be controlled via internet by clicking on the screen with a mouse. Also, with an application program it provides divers functions such as video monitoring, live video conferencing and web broadcasting without additional cost.
More news to come - I will be posting our pricing on these units in here when we work it out but I expect that these units WITH the camera will be competitively priced against the TrackerPod units with camera. Stay tuned for more news!

Lefty and I hooked up another remote cam on a cable modem connection - this one is uncle's cam #7 on the site and is our 19th available cam on the uncle. We had some good news and our camera supplier is able to keep us supplied at a great price and UncleSamsCams.com is going to pass those savings directly to you. Check our products page and see our current sale prices on cams and TrackerPods. OUR PRODUCTS
We will be working on more cam descriptions in the webcam forum in the next few days. The next project will be adding additional products and development of a wireless line of cams - more to come on this.

Just finished up the Contest pages and tested it - seems to work just dandy. Wrote it in ASP with an access database as the back end. May fancy it up a bit later but there ya have it. Lefty is working on "The Cams" page and we have found that all those little streaming thumbs are a real power hog on the users because of all the javacam push deals running at the same time - arghhhh... (Damn Lefty was right, Now I owe him a beer!)
Keep checking back - much more to come- - I am keeping it short and sweet tonight, getting tired and still have more beer to drink, I have to save my energy. cheers! ..::Ski::..

Made progress tonight on the Uncle, Ski came down with his book of knowledge and some beers of course. Ski went to work on the Win a Free Web Cam page but has a little more to do before it is operational. He did make good progress and we are looking forward to giving away some WebCams so keep checking back.
Myself, I worked on The Cams page and put live streaming thumbnails that replace the stale thumbnails we had there. I do have some concern on so many streaming thumbnails on one page, but we are still in the testing stage. heck, might be totally different by the time I am done with it. We'll wait an see.
Ski and I also had a few good hours on strategy discussion to make the Uncle as informative as possible. We came up with some awesome ideas which I am not ready to release yet, ok this is a ploy to keep your interest but its the truth.
So now I am going to copy and paste this in to something I can spell check it with, ok Ski! For some reason I am blessed with the typo syndrome, but I know what I am doing! haha
So for now I will bid you Uncle surfers a goodnight and hope to see you back real soon!

Work on the Uncle has gone slowly for the last few days - we are going to gear up and take care of alot of loose ends in the next few days - putting the ole' nose to the grindstone as it were.
Some things on the list besides the items noted in the previous BLOG below are: Advertising the site (UncleSamsCams.com) - what is our advertising strategy and will we even have a budget or are we going to wing it?
We desperately need to attack the Uncle's Club theory and get our pricing, benefits and membership system down on paper and get it programmed. Just how someone joins and how we get other cams online is of utmost importance!!
The contest pages to win webcams and other equipment needs built badly and we need to use this as part of our promotion tools. I would like to print a code on a business card and have people log into the site and enter the code to see if they are an instant winner and if not have them forwarded to the contest entry screen. Details need hammered out - must get on this immediately

Heres the scoop on whats going on lately: We switched out Uncle Sam Cam #6 with a QuickCam 3000 pro - the QC Web Blue just didn't cut it with the cmos chip it needed way too much light and still had a horrible grainy appearance... yuk! So remote user on cam #6 requested an upgrade and we sold it to him at our deep discount price for Uncle's Cam partners - email me if you want to be on UncleSamsCams and get a free webcam installed or deep discount on a QC 3000. mski@unclesamscams.com
A sister site was launched amid all the Uncle's construction I believe it was time to do a parallel site launch and begin development of RunningMoose.com we will continue to patch and complete the Uncle concentrating on cleanup and FAQ file building as well as camera descriptions and "How did we do it?" sections for each and every cam and place these in the FREE webcam forums - you can see our new bright and colorful forums by clicking webcam forums on the left.
We need to find a home for 2 more TrackerPods to put on our demo pages 24 hours a day and we have a few ideas - more later. We have an opportunity to place another remote cam in Marshallville on a cable connection - we are still nailing down the details on this one.
We have had good luck in our search to provide more products on our site and are in negotiation with a bulk supplier of wholesale cams and computer parts - I will be contacting them to work out some details and enter into a management agreement by the end of the week. Good news for the Uncle!
The Browns play today - beers and football - you bet.
Hey Lefty! not too many errors in your last blog, I am going to let them slide this time - buy a freegin dictionary! LOL.

Today the good people at Eagletron helped me with the TrackerPods new version 3.4 to control our TrackerPods. We have it installed on two of our TrackerPods now, have to update Ski's TrackerPods software soon. Ski came down to my workshop with some beers and a list a mile long to accomplish on the site. We worked on our products page and now have it operational. Plus as always discussed on how to make this site more informational and fun for everyone who comes here.
So on that note I have to say I am not quite as long winded in my blogs as my partener Mark (Ski) but I will try to keep everyone as informed as possible on the progress of what the good people at UncleSamsCams.com are doing.
Oh Yeah, if you see typo's on my part, sorry, Mark will correct them tomorrow! ;)
